Venturing afar to aid Ventura restoration



 

EFFORTS to find essential parts for the former RNZAF Lockheed B-34 Ventura currently under restoration at the Museum of Transport and Technology in Auckland have spread beyond New Zealand. During August two members of the museum's aviation division, Messrs Alan Rowell and Ross Lap-wood, visited New Guinea to search for parts of World War Two Ventura wrecks and to prepare them for shipment back to Auckland.
