Capital Helicopters: a new dimension in life saving
THE ADVENT and continuing development of the helicopter has meant a new chapter in aeromedical evacuation, a chapter only recently complete in New Zealand. Over the past three years two men, Wellington Hospital neurosurgeon Russell Worth and Capital Helicopter's chief pilot Peter Button, have pooled their expertise to develop and refine what is probably Australasia's — definitely New Zealand's — most sophisticated air ambulance — Bell Jet Ranger 206B ZK-HKF. This appraisal was expressed by two men who should know, Buzz Borland, systems engineer, and Harry Miller, international sales manager fo Bell Helicopter Textron. on a recent visit. Bell claim the Jet Ranger, as a type, to be the world's most experienced helicopter in the aeromedical evacuation role.
